Michelle Harper Missing Poster
Collection of Aimee Rivette
1979
“By July everyone knew the movie wasn’t going to work out, except Renato,” says Rivette. “We
came to work every day waiting for the final nail in the coffin. I never thought it would be this.” Michelle Harper was last seen on the set of Excorio, Friday, July 27th. “Her (Harper) demeanor was completely different that day, and her face was slightly lopsided. Only I noticed it but…I knew her better than they did.”
Harper made a phone call to Rivette at 11:23pm Friday night, which Rivette missed. She didn’t leave a voicemail. Harper was reported missing the following Monday. The constant interruptions in filming and repairs to the set proved costly, and with the disappearance of one of the film’s leads Excorio was abandoned.

Michelle Harper has been missing for over forty years, and the curse of Excorio has been dormant for just as long. This is an ongoing investigation—If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Michelle Harper, knowledge about the missing footage, or first hand accounts of the making of Excorio, contact Racheal Bruce.
